Hey, Im Emily.

I BECAME AN ADVENTUROUS ENTREPRENEUR

because I wanted absolute control over my time and my life. I never wanted to have to sit at a desk until a specific time each day, regardless of whether my work was done or not. I never wanted to have to ask permission to take a vacation, or work from home. I recall how frustrated I would get when my bosses would decline my requests for work from home days, personal days, or would try to influence my vacation dates. It made me angry.

I used to judge myself and wonder what the heck was wrong with me that I couldn’t just go with the flow, show up on time, and “be grateful I had a job” like everyone wanted me to. I can’t tell you how often I heard the, “be grateful you have a job” thing while the economy was absolutely tanking in CA and it seemed like EVERYONE was unemployed. Yet that was never good enough for me. I knew I wanted more but I felt weird admitting it because most people saw me as selfish and ungrateful. I felt awful about it.

IT TOOK ME YEARS TO REALIZE THAT THE REASON IT JUST DIDN’T WORK FOR ME WAS BECAUSE I HAD A CALLING TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR.

NOW I GET TO TEACH OTHERS HOW TO BECOME ADVENTUROUS SOULS TOO.
